The 23rd graduation ceremony for the Uganda Christian University (UCU) will be happening at the end of this month on the 29th July.
With only 10 days left to the graduation date, the university has not yet released the final graduation list leaving many students worried.
Even after clearing with the different faculties and schools, and appearing on the faculty graduation lists, students insist that this final graduation list from the university administration is very important as its unpredictable.
“Releasing the list earlier allows us to report any complaints and have them rectified rather than releasing it when time is up,” one student noted.
Students are supposed to collect their invitation cards and hoods from their respective faculties provided the list has been released.
Some students insist that they can only purchase graduation gowns and their graduation wear after the final graduation list has been released as they are not ready to nurse heart breaks and disappointments.
There was a list released earlier last week but was disputed by the different university authorities as it didn’t have an official stamp on it authorizing the accuracy of the information therein hence asking students to be patient.
The same delays have been seen recently witnessed with the graduation clearance as students had to plead with different faculties and schools to have their results and lists released.
One of the known disadvantages of delayed release of graduation lists is students who have fully cleared missing out on the lists with the university not taking any blame for it and students being forced to miss out on the graduation with no clear explanation given to the parent.
