The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University, Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi is appealing to the government over the decision to suspend the admission.
Dr. Senyonyi is quoted in the 6th part of the 20th graduation ceremony that took place Friday, 28th February 2020 at the university to have said that the UCU is committed to “promoting science courses and to putting Christian health professionals on the market”.
The outgoing VC stated that the medical school needed support from the government in areas like infrastructure so that it is nurtured and meets the required regional standards that it was reported to have fallen short of.
The other universities in the similar predicament as UCU include St. Augustine International University and Busitema University. Makerere University and Gulu University survived.
