For a long time, Ugandan’s employment in the diaspora has been synonymous with casual laboring. With many of the employers reluctant to employ people with or without academic qualifications. News reaching us however indictates otherwise. An opportunity to change that status quo has presented itself in the form of the Jokoping University conference.
According to Mark Asiimwe, the student Ambassador Jokoping University, a team of officials are traveling down to Uganda for a conference that will provide opportunities for Ugandans to study and work in Sweden.
“We want to give Ugandans a chance at Global careers. As a patriot, I’d want to see more Ugandans at the different international organizations, especially the ones that impact our communities down in the villages. We want to throw more people who have experienced the status quo into the ship that steers Uganda in a better direction. And we are doing that through the opportunities that we will share at the conference,” relayed Asiimwe.
Asiimwe added that the conference will take place from 16th October to 21st October at Hotel Triangle.
