Several university Guild leaders from Kabale University and Bishop Braham University College in Kabale Municipality were recently equipped with knowledge on financial literacy, leadership as well patriotism during a two-day workshop held at St Mary’s College.
While speaking to the students, Lt. Col. Ronald Kakurungu the UPDF and Defense Ministry Spokesperson asked them to be vigilant and differentiate bad ideas from good ideas.
Also present was Major General Francis Takirwa, the UPDF 2nd Division Commander who urged the youths to avoid being used by people who intend to achieve personal gains.
According to General Takirwa, some youths are used by opposition leaders to promote themselves with support from foreign countries.
Colonel Nelson Aheebwa the Principal Staff Officer of the National Secretariat of Patriotism revealed that they intend to train Guild leaders in all Universities in the Country in a bid to finalize their studies when they are hardcore patriots.
