Victoria University has awarded partial scholarship to Sharon Mbabazi, the brick maker, to pursue a degree in Masters in Public Administration and Management. The scholarship was presented to Ms Mbabazi by Associate Prof. Krishna N. Sharma, the Vice Chancellor of the university.

Ms Mbabazi who recently graduated with a Bachelors of Mass Communication and Journalism from Muteesa 1 Royal University made bricks to fund her undergraduate course. A video showing her making bricks to get fees went viral.

Mbabazi will be joining Victoria University in the March intake. Assoc. Prof. Krishna N. Sharma has also vowed to make a personal partial contribute to her remaining tuition fees.

Another good Samaritan, Rotarian Milly Felix Kabyanga has also offered to pay part of the fees for Mbabazi whose amazing lifestyle defies gender and cultural bias.
