Victoria University has announced a change in delivery of lectures from the usual two-semester system to Modular Trimester which has taken effect this month of March.
In a memo addressed to students, the Academic Registrar of the institution, Prof. Athur Ahimbisibwe notes that the modular trimester system will allow teaching one course module at a time including course works.
He further emphasizes that the fees structure for each programme will remain as is, instead, the total fee will be sub-divided amongst the trimesters, and as the functional fees will still be paid at the start of each trimester of the academic year of each student.
One of the students that our reporter talked to, expressed a sigh of relief explaining that this trimester system, scary as it may seem, will help her and other students give utmost concentration on the particular module they’re studying.
“This will give me that extra bit of time to finish my assignments and studies for each module to ace the exam that will follow at the end of it,” said Ankunda Daisy, a student.
