Makerere University students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) have thrashed a phone thief this morning as he tried to escape from a lecture room with a phone.
According to eye witnesses, the thief, who identified himself as Alfred Mugisha, had attended the lecture with them before the incident happened.
“We attended the lecture together with him and thereafter tried to run away with someone’s phone.”
Mugisha is in the university police custody as investigations keeps ongoing.
Phone theft is the most registered case at Makerere University and it usually intensifies towards the end of the semester.
Martin Titus Mulondo, also a student from CHUSS was last week beaten up and his phone stolen from Kikoni on his way back home. He sustained severe injuries in the face and has been admitted at the university hospital for the past one week.
