Social media is awash with a video of Makerere University Lecturer slapping a female student in a lecture.
The Lecturer has been identified as Dr. Benard Wandera who ‘disciplined’ a student, for using her phone as he was teaching.
The incident happened last semester in Yusuf Lule Central Teaching Facility II.
According to the eye witness who declined to reveal her identity, Dr. Wandera doesn’t tolerate such manners during his lectures and he terms then interruptions.
“That lady was on her phone as the lecturer was teaching. And yet that lecturer doesn’t tolerate nonsense,” she stretched.
She added that whenever you are caught, Dr. Wandera gives punishments ranging from being beaten up or chasing you out of his lecture.
The student who recorded the video however had kept it for a while only releasing it recently.
Campus Bee has learnt that the lady featuring in the video was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (BASS), and she is now a graduand awaiting graduation in Feb 2023.
