In an exclusive interview with Campus Bee, Jimmy Kachabali, a third year Law student at Makerere University revealed that he will be running for Guild Presidency in the next guild elections. Kachabali, who is currently aspiring to become next GRC for Mitchell Hall revealed that his plans for Makerere are to build, not to break.
“Jimmy Kachabali also wishes to serve as 87th Guild because we know Makerere University is just like a horny cow that would really want a bull and I know Makerere University wants Kachabali as a leader, it wants Jimmy Kachabali as a Guild President.” Kachabali told Campus Bee.
If elected GRC for Mitchell Hall, Kachabali plans to improve the hall’s sanitation, feeding, as well as fighting for introduction of a library in Mitchell hall.
“I plan to tackle on the issue welfare for the students in Mitchell hall, look at the sanitation, the general cleanness of Mitchell Hall. Our other plan is to look at feeding, I think its high time we stop going to University Hall which now works as our dinning hall.” Kachabali said.
Speaking of academics, Kachabali also plans to improve the Hall’s reading room which he says is in a sorry state.
Kachabali also revealed that his first edition of the Kachabali Tournament was a success before thanking those who graced the event. According to him, the Kachabali tournament will be organised every year even after he’s done with studies at the Wandegeya-based campus.
What students think of Kachabali
Faith Kukundakwe, a third year Law student at Makerere University confessed that Kachabali is a hardworking and focused young man who she believes should be voted as GRC.
“I think Jimmy should be voted as GRC of Mitchell Hall because he possesses excellent leadership skills that he has showed over the last two years that we have been at campus. I have attested to his leadership because I serve with him on the Makerere Law School Fellowship Committee and he has been very available and helpful.” Kukundakwe confessed.
Nalule Joanita, a third year Law student revealed that Kachabali is capable of doing good things for Mitchell Hall because of his hardworking and charismatic features.
“Jimmy Kacha is a very hardworking resilient person, he’s charismatic, and he’s really capable of doing very good things for Mitchell Hall and I would really advocate for people to vote for him,” Nalule said.
