As the students of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) are preparing for next week’s guild presidential elections, the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) has explained that it doesn’t have any candidate in the race.
NRM through the chairperson MUST chapter Kananura Michael has warned the students to desist from any candidate that alleges to be endorsed by NRM because the party didn’t give out the card to anyone this year.
“On behalf NRM/MUST chapter and on my behalf, I hereby put it to the concern of all MUST community that we did not endorse any candidate in the forthcoming 2021 MUST Guild election. Any propaganda of and about any contestant is a forgery and bears a false and fake signature(s) of the NRM-MUST chapter chairperson and secretariat and is an edited output of previous documents in the previous government, ’He cleared.
The reasons why NRM did not endorse any candidate in this year’s guild election remain undisclosed. Of the five guild presidential contestants, Forum for democratic change (FDC) has one National Unity platform (NUP) has two, two independent candidates.
GRC and Guild’s elections are set to be conducted on 24th and 26th February 2021 respectively.
