Earlier this week, the Guild government of Gulu university took a step to impeach their boss (Guild President) while he was away on vacation in German.
In a letter dated 30th May 2022, the Guild Prime Minister Balaza Nelson communicated that Lapyem Thomas Awany was discharged from performing functions as the elected guild president for Gulu University.
‘’This notice serves to inform the general students’ fraternity of Gulu University that H.E Lapyem Thomas Awany is not entitled to represent the 20th Guild Government on any official duties until further notice, kindly treat him as a normal student,’’ Balaza quoted.
After a day of his impeachment, Lapyem returned back to Uganda from Germany and criticized his subjects whom he called children for not following rule of law while planning his impeachment.
‘’Am officially back in Uganda. Thank you for your prayers. When the father is away the children play a lot without proper guidance now herein hence forth to continue with the parental guidance to my children at Gulu University, guide them on respect to the rule of Law and teach them constitutionalism and legality of leadership,’’ he responded through a Facebook post.
