It’s close to two weeks since the internet was awash by allegations of a Makerere University Business School (MUBS) student being raped by a girl. Well, the issue hasn’t cooled, as it has shifted to the entertainment scene.
NBS’ After Five Show presenter, Douglas Lwanga has spoken out about the matter, saying feminists always rush to react on matters concerning female freedom but always go mute when it comes to addressing issues concerning the boy-child.
This he said, giving an example of Citizens’ Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) Executive Director, Miria Matembe who time and again, ignores the boy-child whenever their rights are violated.
“It defeats my understanding that people like Miria Matembe are silent whenever a boy-child is affected, she quickly comes out only when it is the girl-child complaining. Both genders should be treated equally by the legal societies” said Lwanga during the After Five show.
The NBS presenter called out to all the female freedom fighters in the nation to equally offer lawful support to the alleged MUBS rape victim.
