As we prepare to enter December, a month well known for parte after parte throughout, young folks all over the country are counting down the remaining days to grace the second edition of BUBU (Buy Uganda Build Uganda) Festival, which is slated to go down on 14th and 15th December 2019 at Kololo Airstrip.
According to the organisers of the event, the festival is about encouraging Ugandans to celebrate their Ugandanness ( being Ugandan)and they have prepared different activities that will inspire revellers to engage in activities that add economic value to the country.
What’s in for campusers? Well, the festival will have young business men and women exhibit their products and revellers will come and support them by buying locally made products at the best prices ever.
For an event whose entrance is absolutely free, revellers are urged to show up for both business and other interesting activities like games (Sonko, Bladda, Kwepena, Dullo) as well as nonstop entertainment from Ugandan musicians.
Besides the young and hippy, older folks are as well welcomed to shop with their families and apparently, kids have been catered for as well with the ‘kids play area’, where the best games for the little ones will be played.
The event’s theme is “experience and be thrilled” while you shop and celebrate being in the Pearl of Africa. The festival was born out of the desire to celebrate “everything Ugandan” in order to drive positive perceptions and attitudes towards Ugandan products and services.
For those who missed the first edition, well, the festival is a colourful showcase of wildlife, culture, musical entertainment, local games and sports, movies, comedy, food and so much more, all tailored to the pleasure of thousands of people coming to do their Christmas shopping at discounted rates.
The highly anticipated event is expected to attract over 50,000 revellers and more than 500 exhibitors come the 14th and 15th of December 2019. See you there!
