The Milege Acoustic Project (MAP) is weekly event that takes place at Makerere University Guest House on Thursdays and Kyambogo University’s Peace Park on Fridays. The event is run by Milege Afrojazz Band, a renowned group of young talented musicians from all over Uganda who seek to bring young people together and entertain them through dance, music and poetry at surprisingly no cost.
For the whole of June, the project that usually starts at 7pm, including today’s session on Thursday evening, has specifically been dedicated to the noble cause of saving the life of Viola, a second year student of Economics and Statistics at Uganda Christian University, Mukono that is battling with Leukemia; cancer of the blood. Her condition has since her diagnostic at Kampala Hospital in March saddened the hearts of many who are determined to see that Viola gets her treatment.
The goal is to raise up to 108 Million required for her treatment. All you have to is attend the event to be part of this noble cause and make a monetary contribution towards her treatment.
Among today’s performers will be the Milege Band, Katochi Poets, Davis the Poet, Star Gal the Dancer, Spring Gents and UCU guest performances among others, who are lined up to perform.
Next week on the 10th of June from 8am to 7pm, at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds is Car Wash at UGX. 25,000
