Huawei to officially launch the “Seeds for the Future” Program in Uganda at the week-long Technology Festival scheduled to start on 5th April, 2016 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The program that was announced in 2015 during the President of Uganda’s official visit to Beijing, aims at developing young Ugandan ICT talents through technological training at Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, China.
Globally, Huawei works with local governments and universities to send students overseas to provide work experience with the world’s best ICT equipment. To date, over 10,000 talents worldwide have been benefited from the “Seeds for the Future” program. Over the next 5 years, more than 1,000 students from Africa will join this ICT talent cultivation program.
“Huawei is dedicated to cultivating ICT talents for Uganda. Through the Seeds for the Future Program, Huawei seeks to collaborate with local governments, higher education institutes, and other organizations to select top university students and young government officials working in ICT-related departments; offer them valuable opportunities to study and gain work experience at Huawei’s headquarters in China; and help them to learn more about Chinese culture and gain cross-cultural work experience in a global business environment”, says Mr. Stanley Chyn, The Managing Director of Huawei Uganda.
He adds that Huawei seeks to arrange for Ugandan talents cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, LTE and Cloud computing, and offer them opportunities for hands-on practice in Huawei’s most advanced labs.
