President Museveni on Friday tightened curfew and suspended public and private transport, leaving millions stranded at home.

Due to the alarming spread of COVID-19, majority are avoiding stores and purchasing home essentials online.

For beer lovers, you can order for cheap drinks on Suubula Online.

“Due to the economic impact of COVID-19, we are slashing our prices of most home essentials including beers, whiskies, water and pizza,” said Suubula CEO Camble Hope.

”For example, Abyssinia (Ntinda) Pizza prices have dropped from Shs 26,000 to Shs 24,000. A 1.5 litre bottle of Black Label goes for Shs 135,000 from Shs 150,000. Rwenzori Mineral water Jumbos go for Shs 10,800 from Shs 13,000. We have also reduced delivery fee to Shs 4,000 from Shs 5,000 – anywhere in Kampala,” said Camble.

“The cost of a carton of Coke (350ml) has been reduced to Shs 11,000 from Shs 10, 200,” he added.

Canned beers (500 MLs) such as Guinness, Guinness Smooth, Bell Lager, Smirnoff Ice Black, Tusker Lager, Tusker Lite, Tusker Malt Lager now cost Shs 4,225.

Guarana (330MLs) goes for Shs 4, 979.

Camble said for those with low internet speed can call 0779340039/0759923013 for home deliveries.

Suubula.com is also running a promotion for organic cotton t-shirts (both women and female) ranging from Shs 10,000 to Shs 19,500; sanitary pads, sanitisers and other home essentials such as baking flour, sodas, salt, sugar, kids’ books and cereals among others at handsome prices.

The delivery time for products is 2 hours maximum, according to Camble.

George Ogwal, who has been shopping for home essentials via Suubula.com for the last two years, says it has helped him obtain high quality and affordable products within a short period of time.

“The Suubula.com guys are really fast and efficient. They have high quality products and run a flexible return policy. I rarely go out to shop because whatever I want, I get via Suubula. They have very impressive wholesale prices for almost all their products,” said Ogwal.

Suubula.com also provides a platform where people who are unable to open their shops during this lockdown can sell their goods or market their services online.

“If you are a good mathematics teacher, you can open a free account on Suubula.com and promote your skills in a video. If you have a sauna or hotel or restaurant, use amazing pictures on Suubula.com to attract local travelers and tourists. If you are good at baking, use great photographs on Suubula to woo clients,” said Camble.

With its warehouses in Ntinda, the Ugandan-owned Suubula.com partners with manufacturers such as Coca Cola, Madhvani, Uganda Breweries Limited, Fine Spinners and large scale distributors of Fast Moving Goods such as RAA to ensure Ugandans get low prices for essential goods.
