Hey El,
I wish I had got this letter to you faster but it’s been quite the week with schools closing, more cases being confirmed in the country and realizing that we might be in more trouble than we want to admit.
I am going to give you an update about why I couldn’t write to you, last week. Well I had a test on Wednesday (which is my day to write to you) and after moving out with red eyes I had to sit through the presidential address that informed me that we had to go home.
With the excitement that I got, I didn’t go for my Thursday classes and that is when my lecturer decided to give a test. Watched my graduation tent shaking with a hard test and then a missed one.
Closing the university meant closing some relationships too but some of them needed that break anyway. Some people are returning to their actual partners at home or they are actually single, whichever is the case we are all single now. The quarantine boredom is getting fun, people are really shooting their shots but that seems like a bad idea most of the time.
We have played most of the online games that we swore were for high school people, seen the trending of a video of men carrying a coffin, heard rumors of nudes being leaked it’s a whole lot. While others are really looking for what to do, some are drowning in that housework or explaining to their parents what they study at school. Some people are actually going to quarantine themselves into relationships, we will find out about that later.
That aside, I am a bit worried about what next for my school work because it seems it will take a month or more to actually be able to go to school. All I am doing at home is eating and sleeping my way into my weight gain issues.
As all that is happening, the dollar is raising at a very high rate almost getting to four thousand shillings, so the economists must really know what this means for the economy. Other countries are counting more deaths than anyone should ever have to in their life time. Its sad and scary out here, and every time I hear a new case, I feel like I have all the symptoms of the virus.
Then there is another category that is used to parte every day so staying in the house is really frustrating them but this is for the best for everyone, you stay inside in order to save each other. My country still hangs in the balance as some streets are still crowded and cases keep rising day by day. The downside is it all happens so fast and before you know it, it is a red code situation. I hope we get through his fine and as they say it always gets worse before it gets better.
Till next week,
Love Lucy.
