Hi El,
Since nothing is really happening in my life, I am just going to update you about other people’s lives. Well it’s really more about other people in my life and some of their life moments that changed them forever. Let us start with my first year roommate, the one humble Christian girl.
Truly we can all agree that the kind of sex talk that our parents give most boys is ;”Do whatever you want to do, but don’t bring me a kid” and that’s that on the sex ed topic. It’s nothing about abstinence or safe sex but as long as no kid is getting involved in the mix that is ok.
However it is different for girls as we are reminded to abstain and if anything is to happen pray and resist the devil. But all this doesn’t add up because you aren’t telling your sons to abstain but your daughters should, so which is which. Anyway the rest of the information about sex you have to teach yourself, learn from some very uncomfortable topic with your friends or just learn from the internet.
Averagely every one of us has had their first kiss before the age 20(also I said averagely so the 15 years first kiss people hello), which is the also the average age to join university. Most people are getting into relationships or leaving, others are still struggling with their sexuality, there is a group of people trying to find out how many people they can lay so it’s a whole new adventure for lots of people.
So back to my main point,( sorry it’s hard for me to keep focus on one story) I had this one roommate from a strong catholic family where even her name was from those strong catholic saints and her parents always dropped in once a while to check up on her and how she is doing. Her mother always poured holy water around the room to ensure we kept safe from evil spirits and were protected. Her father brought those church portraits and hang them up in our room and would give a few Hail Marys to keep us on track. I am not catholic so I just looked on though he insisted I close my eyes and pray with them which I had to do reluctantly.
Now this is the daughter they knew or had built up in their brains but me the roommate knew some other girl who always made me climb because of the number of people she brought in. I also had to clean up after her for some of her strong nights out, she was truly living her best life at university. She actually introduced me to my first blunt while at it but that’s the story for another day.
It was all going well until one abrupt morning her father decided to drop in, I was walking to the room from my usual climbing adventures when I met the man in the corridor. At first I stopped walking praying he could fail to notice me and just walk by but then he called my name out loud. He ridiculed my outfit since I was in boxers and a vest saying that is immorality and it shouldn’t be entertained. He even told me a story of how in their days they used to spit on girls that would like dress that (like ok nigga calm down you don’t even know what your daughter is doing)
Anyway he went on and on about dressing, how it is bad in a mixed sex hostel and all that, I actually zoned out at a point. We slowly moved to my room as I secretly prayed for my roommate to hear my telepathic communication to her to make that boy in our room disappear.
Sis I am home and I have housework to attend to so how about we pick this up from I have stopped next week.
With love, Lucy.
