A monochromatic look is when all your outfits are of the same color, including accessories such as shoes and purse.  If you are tired of the same color looks, you can try pairing clothes of the same color family with different hues.

Here are some ethnic outfits that look good in this style

The saree

The saree comes in various designs. The common saree is designed with bright colors; let’s not forget the shiny embellishments and beautiful embroidery.  This means the monochromatic look of a saree is not just about the color, you also have to look out for the style and decorations. If you are matching a whole pink saree, the decorations should e both on the top and bottom part of the outfits.

You can look confidence by wearing a fancy design and flaunting that chic, party look. Wear a bold red and black saree paired with a red top, and red heels. Don’t forget to get a red handbag; this look will have all the attention on you!  Youcan rock this casual look to social events, dinners and festivals.

For normal events, you can wear cotton, one colored saree. Ensure the color of the saree matches with that of your top and heels. This s a casual event, so you can spice up the look by doing a neon color.

Kurti palazzo

The kurta palazzo is Morden look everyone should have in their closet.  The outfit is stylish and complements all body types. You can pair this look differently for several trendy styles.  For a monochromatic look you can pair them in any color, pattern and design. You can always depend on this ensemble to look modern and stylish. Make sure the kurti is not too long; it may overpower the flair of the palazzo pants

Below are some kurti palazzo favourites.

For a chic, elegant and or sophisticated look, pick a block colored kurti and palazzo pants. The colors don’t necessarily have to be the same. Monochromatic look will work as long as your outfits re in the same color family.

A completely black look is bold and sophisticated. Ensure your pair a black kurta palazzo look with black heels and a black bag. Make the textures different to draw attention to each outfit. For example you can wear a silk kurta, cotton lehenga, shiny heels and leather purse. Don’t be afraid to jazz this outfit up with jewelry.

The lehenga kurta ensemble

There are endless ways to style the lehenga and the choli monochromatic look. The most common is using a lehenga suit, where the lehenga and the choli have been made with the same materials and decorations. A modern lehenga choli monochromatic look can be made with different fabrics of the same color of the same color family. You can match a lehenga with any top as long as they remain in the same color family

Examples on how you style them

If you are going for a bold move, wear a tube top with a lehenga.  Choose a top with a fancy, shiny material such as velvet and silk and match it with a flowy lehenga. Cover it with a sheer dupatta, it can have embroidery or embellishment if you like, and complete the look with matching heels or pompoms. Bold colors like purple, blue, red, orange and black will work for this look.

You may want to change to a more traditional look when you are attending festivals and family gatherings. The best look is a long sleeved top that is not too revealing and a matching kurta.  Add a modern touch by selecting a fancy sleeve like a bishop or bell sleeves.  For this look, choose bright colors such as hot pinks, greens, pinks and yellows.

A plain kurti look

I know this may sound boring but allow me to explain first. Designers have created beautiful kurti design that every woman can wear without struggling with bottoms. Wearing a kurti alone is comfortable and shows off your creative and bold character. The length of the kurti you want should depend on your preferences. This look is indo-western, you can wear it to college, social events, and evening plans

Here are some epic looks.

A tulip shaped kurti from Stylecaret will give you a modern, sophisticated and fashion forward look. The best way to style a tulip shaped kurti is with high boots a clutch bag and an up-do. Wear your hair up for the complete look.  Select bright colors like red, orange and pink, or bold colors like black, yellow and navy blue.

For a laid back, chic bohemian look, you can wear a loose a-line kurti with trendy ankle boots. Complete this look with a sling bag and a matching belt. The belt defines the shape of your waist. You can choose a belt with different material to make it work, for example if you are using a cotton kurti you can wear it with a silk belt. The latest sting bags have golden chains as the handles to make them look jewelled.

The sherwani look

The sherwani is famous for many looks. With this jacket, you can transform your look to a trendy, sophisticated and elegant style. Men wear this jacket to work, college, weddings, social gathering, festivals and almost every other event. The monochromatic look with this traditional design is creative and trendy. You can choose between the traditional sherwani look and the modern indo-western style.

Here is how you can style

For a modern style, you can pair a European cut sherwani with some straight trousers and cover the look with a sherwani.  The trick is, go with clothes that fit your frame perfectly. In order to make this look work, the t-shirt or kurti beneath the sherwani must be fitting and colorful. For this look, you can use different hues as long as they all belong to the same color family. You can wear this to formal dimmers, dates and social event depending on the color

Styling a sherwani look for a wedding can be hard, especially when it comes down to choosing the right colors. Indian weddings are usually full of bright colors. You don’t want to appear to a wedding looking all dark and gloomy. Purple, blue, indigo and pink work well for Indian wedding looks. You can wear different hues of purple and complete the look with purple sandals

Conclusion

The monochromatic look is easy to style. Your work is to follow up new looks and create a style on your own for a fashion statement.
