The entertainment industry is a house of cards and socialite Sheilla Gashumba has been making moves. Having just recently been signed as 88.2 Sanyu FM’s newest brand ambassador, the queen of hearts is at it again.
Her new show ‘God’s Plan and Gash Lounge’ has been in the pipeline for a while now. It was first announced in June, and has already had its fair share of controversy. The petite fashionista and her boyfriend Ali Marcus Lwanga (God’s Plan) have had to fend off cyber attacks from loyalists of Tina Fierce’s ‘Sqoop on Sqoop’, an Urban TV gossip show which was suspended on grounds of cyber bullying, a campaign that they spearheaded.
This is not to mention ex NTV Login host Robin Kisti’s allegations that the youthful celebrity plagiarized her idea, the original having been for a show she hosts on Azam TV dabbed ‘Kisti’s Lounge’ which also made its debut recently.
However, despite the controversy sorrounding the show, fans and well wishers of the young empress have been anticipating their “next favorite show” for weeks. Well, the show finally made its debut last night live on Sheila Gashumba’s Facebook page.
The set was absolutely fabulous, taking the shape of an actual lounging space adorned with beautiful furniture and amazing art to top it off. Perhaps what was most striking about the interior was the painting of Sheilla’s luscious lips in the background just behind her seat.
Both co-hosts were of course dressed to kill, which is hardly surprising, since Sheilla Gashumba is multi ASFA awards nominee, not to mention the fact that she is a former co-host of NTV’s fashion show, The Style Project. She was clad in a simple but striking black sleeveless dress, while her boyfriend donned a casually stylish blue suit.
The lil stunner’s prowess as a talk show host was clearly visible as she steered the show effortlessly from one segment to another. Her boyfriend and co-host exhibited a more laid back character, sporting an East London accent that was hard to miss whenever he spoke.
The guest lineup included boss lady Zari Hassan, singer Angela Katatumba and psychiatrist Ethel Nakimuli. They explored a wide range of topics, but the take home from the show would definitely be the stories from their recently concluded online campaign against Cyber bullying.
Both God’s Plan and guest Angela Katatumba took turns narrating their gruesome experiences as victims of the said offense and how it affected them. Psychiatrist Ethel Nakimuli also made an appearance on the show to discuss the mental and psycho-social effects of cyber bullying.
