Busitema University has confirmed the appointment of new Deputy Vice Chancellors (DVCs).
This, according to the University Secretary Matsiko Mutungwire Abert in a letter communicating council’s decisions.
At its special meeting held on Tuesday 3rd October, 2023, Busitema University Council received the Search Committee’s report for the First and Second Deputy Vice Chancellors.
This entailed recommendations to the University Council from the 17th Special University Senate which recommended to Council for approval of two persons suitable to hold the Position of First and Second Deputy Vice Chancellor.
The University Council unanimously resolved to approve the recommendations of Senate and forward to the University Chancellor the appointment of following persons.
The appointees are;
- Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs & Research: Associate Professor Saphina Biira (BSc Educ – Gulu University), MSc Physics (Makerere University), PhD University of Pretoria South Africa
- Currently: Deputy Director Quality Assurance (Busitema University) and Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (F & A).
- Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration: Associate Professor Kamba, F. Pakoyo (B. Pham (Makerere University), MBA (Makerere University), MSc (University of London), PhD Michigan State University).
- Currently: Dean School of Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University.
