Through popular Ugandan run Twitter page “Weird Confessions Uganda”, a Ugandan doctor and dietician that’s pursuing Master’s in Nutrition and Public Health in South Africa has come out to warn unsuspecting young girls who may purchase Sheilah Gashumba’s slimming cream dubbed “Gash Fix Slimming Magic Potion”.
The slimming cream by Sheilah Gashumba goes for shs200,000.
Dietician’s submission
“I love it when people, professionals in their fields, come to this platform to educate people.
I’m a doctor, dietician and doing my Masters in Nutrition and Public Health in SA. And I’ve seen this advertisement a couple of times and am disappointed but sadly not surprised.
Here’s the thing, people: If you’re out there struggling with obesity or looking to shed a few kilos and on the lookout for a quick way to lose the weight, a healthy diet and good exercise still is the only way. What Sheila Gashumba is selling to you here is pretty fake & absurd.
There’s no magic pill, slimming patch, or rubbing cream that’s going to make your weight disappear. If there was, there wouldn’t be need for gyms anymore. And people wouldn’t be spending millions to get weight loss surgeries like gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion etc.
If really the world’s weight loss problems could be solved with just a cream/lotion from Sheila Gashumba, at 200K (roughly $50), she would be a millionaire. Hate to disappoint you but not everything has a quick fix. And these people are making money off of your desperations.”
