It is graduation season at the Law Development Centre (LDC) with one of the three ceremonies already held at Mbarara campus. Kampala and Lira campuses will hold their own on April 19 and April 26 respectively.
In the meantime, LDC has revealed the best performing student at this year’s convocation. Aine Linda Agnes, hailing from Rubanda District, has emerged as the shining star of the Bar Course 2022/2023 cohort at LDC
With an outstanding CGPA of 4.80, she clinched the title of the best overall graduate, a feat achieved through unwavering determination and dedication.
In an exclusive interview with LDC’s Senior Public Relations Officer, Frank Obonyo, Aine shared insights into her journey and the factors that propelled her to success.
Aine’s childhood dream of becoming a lawyer stemmed from her fascination with the authority and dignity exuded by judges. This aspiration remained unwavering throughout her academic pursuits, leading her to excel at Kampala Parents School, Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo, and Makerere University, where she pursued her undergraduate degree in Law.
Motivated by the fear of failure and the desire to honor her parents’ sacrifices, Aine approached the Bar Course with unparalleled determination. She immersed herself in rigorous study, engaging with course materials and peers, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout the journey.
Upon learning of her achievement as the best overall graduate, Aine was overwhelmed with joy and disbelief. The recognition not only validated her hard work but also bolstered her confidence in her abilities.
However, amidst the elation, she acknowledges the anticipation and anxiety about the challenges that lie ahead in her legal career.
Aine’s success was not a solitary endeavor but a culmination of support from her professional advisors and peers. She acknowledges the guidance and encouragement provided by individuals such as Mr. Barekensi Franco, Ms. Karungi Betty Gafabusa, Mr. Nuwagaba Collins, and Ms. Nyangoma Patricia, whose expertise and mentorship enriched her learning experience.
