Four Bachelor of Pharmacy students from Makerere University College of Health Sciences have been flagged off to represent the university in the prestigious Hult Prize competition.
The acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Alinaitwe, officially sent off the team, consisting of Mr. Kabuna Jimmy, Mr. Zziwa Robert, Mr. Muhoozi Valentin, and Mr. Ochom Joel Felix, to compete under the team name SwiftPharma (U) Limited.
The Hult Prize is renowned as the world’s largest student social entrepreneurship competition, offering a grand prize of $1 million to launch the winning enterprise.
SwiftPharma (U) Limited has developed an innovative new malaria treatment, which they hope will secure them the top prize.
Prof. Alinaitwe expressed confidence in the team’s potential, emphasizing the importance of their research and the impact it could have on global health.
