The Speaker of Parliament, Hon Rebecca Kadaga has today tasked the Ministry of Education and Sports to look into a concern raised by members of parliament (MPs) which was questioning why Makerere University allowed students who were due to undertake their internship to go ahead.
The members of parliament say that the move taken by the University’s senate is contrary the Presidential directives and also add that it’s unfair to ask students to go ahead with the internship program under the lockdown.
The MPs through speaker Kadaga clearly note that most companies and internship fields have since, downsized their numbers of their staff and therefore, this would be a big dis-service to the students.
