Following the 42-day lockdown announced by President Museveni in June, Charity Ainembabazi, a second year Business Administration student at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has decided to start stone quarrying.
While speaking to ChimpReports, a local website, Ainembabazi revealed that she is doing stone quarrying from Rutooma in Nyabikoni ward of Kabale municipality in a bid to make some ka money.
The focused Ainembabazi further explained that stone quarrying is a juicy business in Kabale, adding that she has so far made UGX 200,000 from the business.
The MUBS student explains that the hustle, which is keeping her busy during this lockdown has also helped her to take care of her personal needs.
“The work I am doing is good because it teaches me to be responsible for myself and not rely entirely on others.” Ainembabazi said.
Ainembabazi hopes to become a guild president at MUBS as she vowed to remain focused despite how tiresome business can be. She advised fellow students to look for something to do as they wait for schools to be reopened.
“I am encouraging students to try and acquire something to keep them busy in this time and get some income. You can do stone quarrying or brick laying, making crafts or any other job,” she said.
