Among others, the university has announced that all finalists set to report on 8th June will have to undergo mandatory COVI-19 screening before mixing with others.
According to the official document where all SOPs are listed, students and staff found with temperatures of above 37.6 degrees will be asked to stay for further assessments. Prior screening, all students and staff will be required to wash their hands with soap or sanitize with alcohol-based sanitizers.
The document further indicates that all buildings within the campus premises as well as hostels will have a hand washing point and all students and lecturers are urged to either utilize it or sanitize. Wearing of face masks will be a must for students and lecturers as long as they are in the company of more than two people.
“Wearing of face masks should be done at all times when with three or more people, in lecture theatre, library , or hospital,” part of the document reads.
When it comes to accommodation, things are about to change for MUST students as the university announced that more than two students will not be allowed to stay in one room (hostel) in addition to making sure that they are at their places of residence before curfew time (7pm).
“Students are advised to walk or use bicycle when possible. Do not try to use boda bodas” reads another SOP.”
“Following President Museveni’s directive, no congregational gatherings for fellowship, chapel, or mosque prayers will be allowed.” The document reads further.
The university has further vowed to make all offices alcohol-refilling points for all those who run out of sanitizers.
However, the university will not welcome any student or lecturer with cough of flu-like symptoms to enter the premises. All students and lecturers have been advised to observe social distancing and continue to follow all guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
