UNICAF University has finally launched its operations in Uganda ahead of the official opening slated for 1st November. Campus Bee understands that the university has been conducting partial testing to make sure that everything is in order.
The newly launched university is a Pan African institution offering high-quality academic qualifications by combining the best elements of international education.
According to George Nasinyama the University Vice-Chancellor, the University takes advantage of UNICAF partnerships with reputable universities to provide competitive, internationally recognised online degree programmes at affordable prices.
“The University takes advantage of UNICAF partnerships with reputable universities to provide competitive, internationally recognised online degree programmes at affordable prices. Students can also choose to study toward University’s own international quality degree programmes,” Nasinyama said.
The University is a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), the Southern African Regional Universities Association (SARUA), and the Advance HE. Unicaf University campuses in Zambia and Malawi that are also accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as an Independent Higher Education Provider.
Nasinyama added that UNICAF University is well licensed and regulated by the National Council for Higher Education which has extended one million dollar scholarships to students.
While attending the launch, Timothy Sejjoba who represented the Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. John Muyingo urged UNICAF University leadership to support Uganda’s development by carrying out impactful research.
“UNICAF University should not only provide equitably and hold a high number of students enrollment but comply with higher education quality assurance mechanism instituted by National Curriculum Development Centre to deliver world Class Education,” Sejjoba said.
Also present was ICT Minister Chris Baryomunsi who urged students to embrace virtual learning before promising to work with the government in creating a conducive environment for online education.
