The National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) has directed all Vice Chancellors and Principals of institutions of higher learning to keep the schools closed till April 2021.
In a letter written by NCHE Executive Director, Prof Mary Okwakol, the institutions of higher learning have been advised to continue with the ongoing Open Distance and e-learning (ODeL) programs.
“The National Council of Higher Education is in receipt of a communication from the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports informing us that based on the advise of the President Scientific Advisory Committee, the President has guided that that all Higher Education Institutions should continue studying online using ODeL system for at least another three months,” the letter reads in part.
Institutions of higher learning that have not yet embraced the ODeL system have been advised to do so. “All institutions that have not embraced ODeL system are encouraged to do so,” Prof Okwakol noted.
