The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has announced a national recruitment exercise running from July 20 to August 1, 2026, across all districts in the country. Col. First: It is free. Recruitment into the UPDF does not cost anything. If anyone approaches you asking for money in exchange for recruitment assistance, report them immediately. Col. Magezi urged applicants to report any such individuals.
Second: Do not forge documents. Anyone who presents forged documents or engages in fraudulent activities during the recruitment process will be arrested and prosecuted under the law. No exceptions.
Col. Magezi specifically encouraged eligible women to apply across all relevant categories — a direct signal that the UPDF is actively seeking to diversify its intake beyond traditional demographics.
