A 25 year old lady, Miss Belinda Nansasi, was yesterday crowned 2019 Miss Curvy Uganda at Imperial Royale Hotel, making her the first winner of the controversial Beauty Pageant that had some members of the public calling for the resignation of Tourism Minister Kiwanda.
On top of the crown, the beauty queen also won herself a Grand Cherokee and plus a scholarship at Victoria University as was earlier reported on this site to study a Diploma, Bachelors or Masters Degree in addition to a free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation.
Nansasi emerged winner from a pool of 25 contestants that competed in cat-walking and modelling several outfits including a brain challenge where they answered questions from the judges.
Among the guests at the function was the State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda who was thrown into hot soup over comments he made at the launch of the pageant weeks back.
The pageant was started with a main objective of promoting Uganda’s tourism sector by attracting as many tourists to the country as possible. And like most beauty queens, Ms Nansasi will be a Tourism ambassador in the country.
