Makerere Guild President, Paul Kato has broken silence on the internship money that has not been credited to most students’ accounts. Below is his update;
RE: INTERNSHIP
Gallant Makerereans, I greet you. Allow me first congratulate you upon the successful completion of this academic year.
However, its unfortunate that some people have not received their internship money yet time is running out. The first batch of 5000 students was cleared last Friday,the second batch with about 1500 students was cleared on Monday. All these batches were cleared in my presence.
The biggest problem came from late commencement of the process of collecting and verifying students’ bank accounts. Secondly, some college bursars like CEDAT and LAW delayed to submit students’ accounts to main building which has delayed the process in those two colleges.
Today,I am going to witness payment for the last batch which has about 700 students most of whom are CEDAT and LAW.
All those whose money bounced because of either inconsistencies in their accounts or otherwise, go to main building in the bursar’s chamber where u will be helped to rectify your issues.
I continue to wish u the best in your holidays/ internship.
KATO PAUL
Guild President
