Sad news coming in from Makerere University indicate that Ibanda Ronald, a final year student at FEMA and a resident of Mitchell Hall has today morning passed on.
According to Godwin Toko, a senior resident of Mitchell Hall, the former Mitchell chairman Ibanda was “a week ago, he was admitted at University hospital after complaining of a headache, he was discharged, went home and has been there for the last few days, only to get the news that he is no more.”
Friends mourn
Abaho Herbert, a close friend to Ibanda eulogized; “Our hearts are in total meltdown. Personally I can’t believe that I am padding my final words about you.
Gone too soon my brother Ibanda Pedro.
Your personality, humility, humble nature and friendliness are incomparable.
Personally I can’t forget how you gave me a brotherly shoulder to lean on during my darkest hours. I remember when I had joined makerere and contested for 4 Grc .
I met you for the first time in fema 2.2 and you said, “Abaho you are going to make it” and you informed me how you would become COBAMS president next year in a joking manner.
The next year you contested for chairman Mitchell and had a heroic race with Katana & Aziz.
I remember all those moments in internship where you were at Farmer’s house and I used to pass there 4 an evening jazz after work at the ministry of justice.
Our jokes about women, politics, Basoga and Banyankole still play inside my head like nice music that plays from a far distance. I used to teach you Runyankole and you teach me Lusoga.
Ohhhh Ibanda Ronald Pedro You told me in 2021 I should buy 3 new suits I come and campaign for you in jinja district 4 the LC5 district chairperson position. I have really lost a brother.
As I sit in my room I remember laughing with you in room f21 Mitchell hall. Ohhhh Pedro gone too soon my brother.
You used to joke with me about my grades, you would smilingly ask, “Abaho how do you get those grades in maths and economics”. I would only smile back.
Life is indeed a liar, short and useless and indeed tricky
I WILL LIVE TO ALWAYS CELEBRATE YOU.
RIP BROTHER IBANDA PEDRO.”
Gerald Muhumuza Tibasiimwa eulogised; “My heart is full of pain. PERSONALLY I didn’t know u but the description of your friend and the pain u have left in his heart is indeed aclear evidence of how good u have been.
To your friends u have left in pain and indeed your family, May the good Lord comfort you in this trying moment.”
We share keep you posted on the burial arrangements. May Ibanda’s soul rest in peace.
