Uganda Christian University has announced that it will review the functional and boarding fees amid continuity of learning online, which comes after the presidential directive of closing higher institutions of learning on Monday.
The information was revealed by the Vice Chancellor – Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi through a memorandum dated June 7, in which he notes that the adjustment will be on a pro rata (proportionate allocation) basis.
“Since teaching is going to continue online, functional fees and boarding fees will be re-computed since students will be off campus for 42 days. The adjustment will be calculated on a pro-rata basis and a student’s savings will be indicated on their university account.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor also noted that the virtual graduation which was slated to take place on July 2, has been put off to a later time after the 42 days of the institutions lockdown.
The University Administration has further encouraged students who can’t cope with online mode of learning to apply for withdrawal from the pending semester without a penalty. The affected students will be allowed to proceed with their studies when face to face learning resumes.
