After the actions of the Kyambogo University Guild Representative Council (GRC) yesterday that saw People Power’s Jonathan Tundulu unceremoniously impeached, guild presidents of other universities have rallied the students of Kyambogo and pleaded with them to give him a second chance.
Tundulu, who had been in hot soup for close to a month, was impeached after the GRC accused him of being self centred, unaccountable and neglecting the guild for People Power activities instead. His pleas of transformation and forgiveness fell to deaf ears as the GRC, by form of secret ballot, showed him the exit.
Speaking to the media, the guild president of Bishop Stuart University (BSU) Denmark Adios Beinomugisha said that there is nothing that can’t be solved once you put head to it. “I didn’t know about this issue (Kyambogo Impeachment) until yesterday and when I talked to Tundulu, he said if there are issues to deal with his character they can always be solved” Beinomugisha said.
He added that Tundulu was open to dialogue as to any misunderstandings and that the university community should not afford to lose such a committed leader with genuine student interests because of misunderstandings that can be solved and ironed out.
